Our Bacfree technology
Our water source and treatment process
In Malaysia, surface water is the main source, unlike Indonesia and Australia, which rely on underground sources. Surface water is accessible but prone to contamination, while underground water may contain heavy metals.

Why do we need to filter our water
Clear water can still contain harmful impurities, chemicals, or microbes. Pollutants enter at any stage—from lakes to rivers to ponds.
FACTORS AFFECTING WATER QUALITY
Agriculture runoff
Water used in farming contains fertilisers, pesticides / herbicides and other pollutants.
Stormwater runoff
Rainwater flowing through drains and ditches picks up all kinds of contaminants.
Leaking landfills
Various contaminants and toxic chemicals from garbage can leach into the groundwater.
Industrial discharge
Factory waste is often discharged directly into water bodies.
Personal care / household products
Detergents, medicines, makeup and other contaminants go down the drain and into water sources..
Rusting pipes
Water picks up rust and other sediments from the corroded pipes.
High dosage of chlorine
High chlorine levels, often used to protect against bacteria, can also impact taste and safety.
Sediment and particles
WHAT IS IT
Tiny particles of sand, rust or dirt.
CAUSED BY
Weathering and erosion.
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL BECAUSE
It could have absorbed harmful chemicals or microbes.
Heavy metals
WHAT IS IT
Natural minerals which cannot be degraded or destroyed.
CAUSED BY
Weathering of soils and rocks, volcanic eruptions and human or industrial activities.
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL BECAUSE
Heavy metals like lead, mercury and arsenic may cause poisoning, induce cancer or raise other risks.
Bacteria, viruses and parasites
WHAT IS IT
These microorganisms are all around us.
CAUSED BY
These living organisms are naturally found in water.
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL BECAUSE
Microorganisms can cause all kinds of illnesses, from the common cold and diarrhea to organ infection.
Colour, taste and odour
WHAT IS IT
Water that is not clear or is discoloured.
CAUSED BY
Microorganisms, decaying vegetation or chemicals. Colour is commonly caused by substances in water.
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL BECAUSE
It could have an abundance of health-harming substances.
Organic chemicals and pharmaceuticals
WHAT IS IT
Organic chemicals are widely used as fertilisers and pesticides. Pharmaceuticals are human and animal medicines.
CAUSED BY
Medicines that had been thrown or flushed away, agricultural runoff and sewage carrying excrement of those who had digested pharmaceutical products.
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL BECAUSE
Microorganisms may develop resistance to antibiotics. Certain chemicals may pose severe health risks, especially for growing children.
What should you test your water for?
TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS
(TDS)
TURBIDITY (WATER CLARITY)
COLOUR OF WATER
PH-LEVEL OF WATER
Total dissolved solids (TDS)
WHAT IS IT
Contaminants smaller than 2 microns. Moderate to high TDS changes water's taste and odour and poses health hazards.
CAUSED BY
Weathering and erosion, as well as human activities, which cause materials to be dissolved in water.
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL BECAUSE
Parts per million (ppm) (equivalent to milligram per litre of liquid water).
National Standard of Drinking Water: 1000mg / l

Turbidity (Water Clarity)
WHAT IS IT
Suspended particles in water. The higher the turbidity, the more particles there are.
CAUSED BY
Soil erosion, high levels of nutrients, various waste products and pollutants, bottom-feeding organisms which stir up sediment in the water.
MEASURED IN
Nephelometric Turbidity Unit (NTU). The lower the NTU, the clearer the water is.
National Standard for Drinking Water: Less than 5 NTU

Colour of Water
WHAT IS IT
The more colour water has, the less transparent it is.
CAUSED BY
Dissolved substances in water.
MEASURED IN
True Colour Units (TCU). Lower TCU means there are fewer dissolved substances in water, making the water more transparent.
National Standard for Drinking Water: 15 TCU

pH-Level of Water
WHAT IS IT
“Potential hydrogen” is a measurement of a substance‘s hydrogen level.
CAUSED BY
Water pH varies depending on weather, human activity, and natural processes.
MEASURED IN
A scale of 0 to 14. Water can be acidic (pH 0 to 7), neutral (pH 7) or alkaline (pH 7 to 14).
National Standard for Drinking Water: 6.5-8.5 pH

A peek into our Multi-Medium Quartz Filtration
Multi-medium filters consist of cool based activated, carbon, antifracite and fine quartz for fine filtration of sediment, colour, excessive chlorine and suspended solids down to as small as 5 microns.
Activated carbon
Most effective material to remove foul taste, colour, odour, excessive chlorine, by-products and organic matters
Anthracite
Remove rust and fine sediments as fine as 5 microns
Fine quartz sand
Removes sediments as fine as 5 mircons
Medium quartz sand
Filtration support bed ensures effective backwash
Coarse quartz sand
Filtration support bed ensures effective backwash
Special stone
Protect the filter drain
