How does Bacfree Rainwater Harvesting System work?

Step 1: Pre-Tank Filtration

Bacfree Rainwater Harvesting Steps

During the first step of filtration process, up to 90% of rainwater is filtered and diverted into the rainwater tank.

The remaining 10% is used for the filter’s self-cleaning function.

Bacfree rainwater filters operate as a first flush device, directing leaves, dirt and debris to the drainage or an On-Site Detention tank (OSD), so large particles are reduced.

Step 2: Smoothed Inflow & Distribution

While filtration removes most of the sediments, a small quantity will settle at the bottom of the tank.

This biofilm layer is beneficial for the tank since it removes additional bacteria and metals from the water.

The smoothing inlet is designed to direct incoming water upwards. This prevents rainwater from stirring up the healthy biofilm layer and also distributes oxygen-rich water throughout the tank.

The Bacfree Rainwater filter collector has an almost vertical stainless steel filter mesh and maintains the cross-sectional diameter of the rainwater downpipe.

But how is it possible to collect up to 90% of rainwater using such a design?
