ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance.

It is a framework used to evaluate and measure a company’s sustainability and ethical impact.

The environmental aspect evaluates a company’s impact on the environment, including its carbon footprint, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices.

ESG considerations have become increasingly important to investors and businesses as they work to align their values and long-term goals with responsible, sustainable practices.

ESG risks ultimately stem from social, environmental, and governance factors that influence a company’s financial performance and management.

ESG risks affect companies of all sizes and remain critical to the long-term financial success of any business.

That’s why many businesses implement ESG strategies — to manage risks and safeguard their future success and operational quality.

What is GITA?

Aligned with the Malaysian Government’s agenda to advance the green economy, the Green Technology Tax Incentive was introduced in 2014.

This program offers two types of incentives to support the industry. Companies can apply for the Green Investment Tax Allowance (GITA) if they either acquire qualifying green technology assets listed in the MyHIJAU Directory or undertake eligible green technology projects for their business or internal use.

GITA is also available to green technology service providers that are registered under the MyHIJAU Directory.

Scope of the Green Technology Tax Incentive

Green Incentive Tax
Allowance (GITA) Assets

Applicable to companies that acquire qualifying green technology assets listed under the MyHIJAU Directory.

Green Incentive Tax
Allowance (GITA) Projects

Applicable to companies that undertake qualifying green technology projects for business use or own consumption.

Green Incentive Tax
Exemption Services

Applicable to qualifying green technology service providers listed under the MyHIJAU Directory.

How Does the Tax Incentive Work?

Sustainable Water Management

• Reduce reliance on municipal water sources
• Provide backup water supply for critical needs
• Ease the strain on local water systems

Environmental Impact

• Reduce carbon footprint
• Mitigate excess stormwater runoff, which can lead to flooding

Reliable Water Quality

• Rainwater is naturally soft and low in mineral content
• Suitable for a wide range of applications

Social Responsibility

• Demonstrate your commitment to sustainable practices and ESG principles

The Harm of
Single-Use Plastic
Water Bottles

What if we told you that every room in your hotel could offer clean, filtered drinking water—directly from the tap?

Say goodbye to single-use plastic bottles, and eliminate the need for guests to walk down the hallway to access water dispensers.

With our range of Direct Drinking Tap Filtration Systems, everyone can enjoy safe, convenient water straight from the tap.

Environmental Impact

• Contributes to excessive plastic pollution
• Depletes natural resources
• Non-biodegradable and harmful to the environment

Financial Costs

• Creates waste management burdens
• Presents ongoing recycling challenges

Health Concerns

• Risk of chemical leaching
• Exposure to BPA and phthalates
• Ingestion of microplastics

Unsustainability

• Unsustainable consumption patterns
• Difficulties in proper disposal

In conclusion, single-use plastic bottles pose serious risks to the environment, human health, and the economy.

Recognizing these impacts is essential to encouraging a shift toward more sustainable and responsible choices.

But Are Glass Bottles a Better Choice?

While glass bottles are often seen as a more environmentally friendly option than single-use plastic—thanks to their recyclability and absence of harmful chemicals—it’s important to acknowledge that they also come with their own sustainability challenges.

X Heavier weight increases transportation costs and emissions

X Prone to breakage due to fragility

X Energy-intensive production with a high environmental footprint

X Higher overall cost

X Safety concerns due to breakability

X Inconvenient for frequent use and handling

X Higher carbon footprint from manufacturing and transport

X Low durability compared to alternative materials

Foreseeing this as a growing concern in the hospitality industry—one of the highest consumers of single-use plastic water bottles—we sought an alternative approach to address the issues linked to both plastic and glass bottled water.

Our solution: an under-counter direct drinking water filtration system paired with a dedicated water faucet. This sustainable approach eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles entirely.

A key benefit of this solution, known as the 3SQCS, is its maintenance-free design. It operates smoothly with no servicing required, only needing a cartridge replacement once every 12 months.

It delivers safe, clean drinking water that meets the stringent quality standards set by the Malaysian Ministry of Health.

Drinking Water Faucet

Our drinking water faucets are made from SUS304 stainless steel — a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material.

They are dedicated to delivering filtered water and are installed separately from the main faucet.

Designed for installation on sinks or countertops, these faucets are available in three color options.

The importance of drinking water signage lies in its ability to promote health, ensure accessibility, build user confidence, and raise awareness.

Hydration & Health Promotion

Signage indicating the availability of drinking water encourages hotel guests to stay hydrated.

Accessibility

Signage directing guests to water sources makes it easier for them to find and access clean, safe drinking water.

Environmentally
Conscious

By highlighting the presence of direct drinking water points, signage encourages hotel guests to use refillable containers — reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles and supporting environmental sustainability.

Awareness of water quality

The signage includes our website link, providing information about the quality of the drinking water.
